Graphics on mobile ≠ Graphics for desktop devices
A few notable points for designing graphics on mobile devices –
Design for Different Screen Sizes
Different mobile devices have a different resolution and size. Thus need to consider multiple graphics while designing for mobile devices.
Liquid Design with G-sensor
All most all new smartphones have G-sensor (usually an accelerometer) – help display information correctly based on phone’s actual orientation i.e., portrait or landscape. Thus need to design such way so that graphics fits irrespective of screen orientation.
Speed matters for everybody – from users to search crawlers. So keep the file size as small as possible and try to optimize images properly.
Image format: use only the preferred format while creating usable graphics for mobile devices.
Smartphones supports thousands and millions of colors. To display sharper and brighter images in smartphones – creating graphics from a desktop PC simply won’t work.
Use relative sizes, instead of setting absolute – depending on size, content (both multimedia and text) will automatically adjust to fit the screen before displaying.
